Missouri Anglers Demonstrate the Advancement Opportunities That TBF Has To Offer State tournament time is soon approaching. The ultimate goal of many is to qualify in the tournaments top 12 positions and making the States twelve man team. Qualifying for the State Team is just the beginning of how TBF offers further advancement. The Divisional format has two positions that will move on to Nationals. These 1st and 2nd place anglers from this divisional, advance as one boater and one co-angler. The divisional 3rd and 4th place anglers qualify for the Weekend Warrior qualifying tournament, which will advance two boater positions for their annual championship. During this year, Missouri’s Greg Cooper and Jim Mitchell advanced to the TBF Federation National Championship in Charlotte, N.C. Thirty-seven boaters and thirty-seven co-anglers qualified through TBF divisional tournaments to compete in the TBF National Championship. All of these anglers competed in wrapped boats and trucks supplied by Ranger Boats and Chevy Trucks. The highest finishing boater and co-angler from each of the six TBF divisions after two days of competition advanced to day three. The boater with the highest cumulative weight from all three days of competition was crowned the TBF National Champion and received the "Living the Dream" prize package, along with entry into the Forrest Wood Cup Championship. The top six boaters and co-anglers also advance to the All-American, with the highest finishing co-angler also advancing to the Forrest Wood Cup. Both Greg and Jim out performed their central division competition and advanced to day three, and were qualified for the All-American.
Our recent June Divisional tournament in Columbus, Ms., yielded our second round. Bryan Maloney and Mike Horstmeyer, will be off to compete in nationals next April. Eddie Wolfe was awarded entry into next years Weekend Warrior Championship.
So here we go again, lots of opportunities. It’s State tournament time and time to take advantage of advancement.
