Take a Kid Fishing
The Team Concepts Bass Club, played host to a day of fishing for kids at Mozingo Lake, June 30. In attendance were 17 adults and 13 kids. This is actually the clubs second year of sponsoring the event at Mozingo.
The entire group met in the not too early hours, were assigned parings, and soon were off with an 8:30 take-off. The partially overcast day, made for a very rewarding time on the water. Many fish were caught by both kids and adults alike. Our noon weigh-in was conducted on the water with the use of one of the adult’s pontoon boat.
Taking first place honors with largest combined fish weight was Amanda Jaynes. Taking big bass first place among the adults was Greg Lampton.
Upon completion of the weigh-in, all gathered to a shelter house for a cook-out and prizes.
Many local businesses contributed to our event by donating food and prizes. A special thanks to: US Food Service, The Country Store, Smithville Marine, Rogers Sporting Goods, Dicks Sporting goods, The Rod Shop, Burtons Bait and Tackle, Big V.
